Carrier Program: Benefits

TLC sets itself apart from other 3PL transportation partnerships:

  • Use established rates and fuel surcharge tables - no need to spot-negotiate every load.
  • An experienced staff that knows and understands the transportation industry.
  • TLC's sequential tendering practices ensure that lane awards are honored.
  • Carriers are given a generous 1 hr window to make an accept/reject decision about a given load.
  • Prompt and consistent payment schedule.
  • EDI and/or Web interfacing for load acceptance, event entry and carrier billing.
  • 100% unloading/lumper reimbursement (lumper receipt is required).
  • Detention clocks start after two hours. (with very few exceptions)
  • A Carrier Relations department acting as an intermediary when issues or concerns arise.
  • Opportunities for growth for established carriers.
  • TLC's “Preferred Carrier” Broadcast Tendering feature, which enables carriers to view and submit rates for loads that are available - regardless of account.
  • Multiple accounts, multiple shippers
  • Proactive Performance evaluation with weekly communication.

Positive aspects of our current portfolio:

  • 2-3 day average lead time
  • 1.25 drops per shipment
  • Both dry and temperature controlled freight.
  • Minimal (HM) Hazardous Material shipments (very limited in most cases).
  • Claims ratio of <2%
