The Kraft Morris Biscuit Center in Illinois which is managed and operated by Total Logistic Control, was awarded the Kraft 4th Quarter 2009 Leadership and Excellence award. Morris competed against 10 other Kraft Regional Distribution Centers to win this award for the second consecutive quarter and the third time in the last five quarters.
The Mixing Center enables customers to order all of their Kraft goods in one order, depending upon temperature requirements. All dry goods can be on the same dry truck, just as all refrigerated goods can be on the same order and truck – to maxmize efficiency.
The competition centers around four key performance indicators (KPIs)
1. Cost Per Case
2. Cases Per Hour
3. Claims %
4. Safety
They also take into account the actual yearly performance score and the change in that ranking from the previous year - making it more difficult to repeat a top performance. Each of the four categories is given a score. Those totals are then added up and divided by four to give the overall average score. The facility with the best average across those categories wins the award.
